OUR MISSION
The mission of the Powell County Fairgrounds Improvement Foundation is to secure funding and community support to renovate, enhance, and sustain the fairgrounds as a vital asset for education, agriculture, recreation, and economic growth in Powell County, Montana.
OUR VISION
We envision the Powell County Fairgrounds as a sustainable, well-maintained, and modern public asset that supports education, agriculture, recreation, and economic growth throughout the region.
01.
GRANDSTANDS PRIORITY #1
The old Powell County Grandstands were examined by a structural engineer in 2023 and were found to be well-deteriorated and in a severely dilapidated state after over 100 years of use. In order to make room for the
upcoming season, a large section of the old grandstands was demolished in 2024.
In August 2025, a new concept for the grandstands, fairgrounds entry, Main Street frontage, and beer garden was introduced, and we could not be more thrilled to share this with you!
02.
THE GOAL
To have the grandstands structure in place, which would, at a minimum, include a covered grandstands structure, arena reconfiguration, and the re-construction of the main Fairgrounds entrance.
The estimated project cost for this phase of improvements is approximately $2.5 million ($5 Million for the entire phased plan). The Powell County Commission has committed $1,000,000 in matching funds and 100% of donations will go toward this phase of development.
03.
FUNDRAISING
The Powell County Fairgrounds Improvement Foundation is financially unaffiliated with Powell County. The Board is currently organizing fundraising efforts to match $1,000,000 in funds with 100% of donations going towards this phase of development.
